Chapter 1358: Bleeding to Death

Ronnie’s performance was nothing short of amazing. He had completely surpassed the impression his former party had of him.

Their impression of him was: S grade scouting ability, A grade movement speed, A grade explosiveness but C grade sustainability of combat power.

Because, although his cloning skill was pretty powerful, its MP consumption was also huge. Ronnie could only use it once, maybe twice, before his MP ran out.

Therefore, the Ronnie they knew would only use his cloning skill during critical moments to save his life. They did not expect Ronnie to use the skill continuously to attack. Another thing they did not expect was for the skill to be so powerful when used together with Ronnie’s Blood Weapon and bleeding effect!

The Ronnies did not stay to attack further. Right after they struck, all eleven Ronnies scattered and ran away in different directions. It was almost impossible to catch Ronnie under such circumstances. One thing had been proved before: even if all these Ronnies were killed, all of them could very well be just illusions. The real Ronnie may have long ran away.

Capote ran up to Ghani and held him tightly, trying to slow down the bleeding. The blood which poured out of the wounds instantly dyed Capote’s clothes red. The thick red blood pooled together, slowly turning semi-solid, while those that had not solidified unwillingly dripped to the ground.

Capote’s face paled. He fed and smeared all kinds of medicine on Ghani, but they did not seem to have any effect. Ghani’s blood still gushed out of the wounds like water rushing out of faucets that had been opened to the limit.

The rest could only look on foolishly, powerless to do anything. Helplessly waiting like this was a heavy burden on anyone’s heart, because they could not help thinking... If they were stabbed 11 times like this too, wouldn’t they suffer the same outcome?

Ghani’s chest heaved heavily as he gasped for breath. His remaining hand gripped Capote’s arm tightly. His eyes were anxious, as if he wished to say something but was unable to express his thoughts with words.

Capote, however, could feel Ghani’s hand that was grabbing his arm carving something with his fingernail. After that, Ghani heaved his final breath.

The powerful man actually bled to death!

It took Capote a while to figure out what Ghani was carving on his arm. It was three letters.

R,U,N!!!

Capote’s heart was filled with a strong sense of shame and anger. His first reaction was to vehemently deny Ghani’s suggestion. Are you kidding?! Even though they had lost a few people, they still vastly outnumbered the enemies. Besides, the enemies had Evil Sword Apophis!! Evil Sword Apophis.... Apophis....

“Damn it!” Capote suddenly calmed down. Fear gradually rose in his heart due to Ghani’s warning.

‘The man holding Evil Sword Apophis is strong enough even without the sword. With it, he becomes so powerful that no one can get close to him. And yet, their real killer is Ronnie, who’s strength has greatly increased!’

‘I see. There’s a reason why that man used his ultimate move to eliminate Yanigan at the very beginning of the fight. He wants us to focus on his powerful attack, but his real role is actually to absorb damage and attract our attention. Damn it! Damn it! He’s not holding a shield, but he’s a full-fledged MT, without a doubt! He’s an abnormally powerful MT the likes of which we’ve never seen before!’

‘There’s also Ronnie, who can safely attack under the protection of a powerful MT, and the powerful Awakener who can transform into an Archon.... Is our hastily assembled group really a match for them?’

Capote’s heart was wavering. He could not help but continue to ask himself:

‘If that MT charged at us again after getting enough rest with the same unstoppable momentum as before, can we handle him? Without giving Ronnie any chance to strike?’

‘Definitely not.’

‘If another Psionic Storm appears above our heads, can we not show any opening?’

‘No...we can’t!’

“Damn it! Where did the problem occur??!! We obviously had the advantage. How did we fall into such an awkward situation??’

Capote was like a poker player who had a great hand, but his opponent had suddenly pulled a royal flush out of nowhere.

What’s more, he still could not understand how they lost the upper hand with the numerical advantage that they had.

In truth, the answer was very simple.

Because the first thing Sheyan did was to eliminate the core person in their group, Yanigan! The one that could protect his teammates from the very front as they charged forward!

Keep in mind that both sides were currently in the middle of a mission. The last thing Sheyan wanted was for the enemies to rush at them all at once and force their way through! Therefore, the first thing Sheyan did was to take out the one among them who had the courage and ability to lead the enemies forward as the arrowhead of the formation, at all costs!

A snake would not move forth without a head; a bird would not fly without wings. All the contestants at this level had well-defined roles. An MT’s role was to charge in front, leading everyone forward. Therefore, once the MT was suppressed, even if the entire party’s determination to advance was not extinguished, at least when they encountered difficulties and setbacks, they would have no one leading them out of the pinch. You simply could not expect a sniper or mage like Pacino or Old A to wave their sniper rifle or magic staff high and shout “Follow my lead!”.

To be honest, even in the current situation, if these people decided to swarm forward without any fear of sacrifice, fully making use of their advantage in numbers, Sheyan and his side would still be powerless to stop them. If they did this, the final result would be obvious. Sheyan’s mission would fail, and one or both of Ronnie and Aldaris would surely die. Sheyan’s life may even be in danger.

However, at least three of the enemies would die too!

Don’t forget that Sheyan still had yet to activate his trump card, SARS!

And herein lay the problem. How could there be anyone among the enemies selfless enough to give up their lives for the team, letting the rest enjoy the fruits of their sacrifice? Especially now that the two people who usually led in front, the golden duo of Yanigan and Ghani, had both been killed.

Therefore, this hypothetical situation would never happen, unless Sheyan forced them into a corner, or the Queen of Blades were chasing them from the back.

Ronnie suddenly sighed in the party channel.

“Boss, I think Capote is thinking of running away. I know him too well. He’s quietly dropped a time bomb. I bet he’s even planted one on himself, because I’ve seen him do it before with my own eyes. That way, whoever tries to bring him down will have to be prepared to go down with him.”

Sheyan wiped away the blood and sweat from his face and gulped down a few mouthfuls of the ‘Endless Vodka’. He said thoughtfully, “That’s good. When someone starts running away, it’ll trigger a domino effect, and others will follow suit. But that’s to be expected. Oh right, what about the woman who betrayed you?”

There was a short silence before Ronnie replied, “I didn’t see Artemis. She must have thought that it was a waste to send so many people after me, or maybe she discovered something that’s more profitable than hunting me down.”

Sheyan leaned against the metallic wall with his eyes closed. He only said after a while, “It’s unfortunate, but you may not get your revenge in this world, Ronnie. There’s no way for us to wipe out all these bastards here. Many of them will survive and join the woman, and they’ll tell her everything they’ve learned about us. That’s actually not that crucial; the crucial thing is, there are simply too few of us here.”

Ronnie paused, then said, obviously unwilling to give up, “Maybe I can give it a try by myself?”

“That’s exactly what she wants you to do, you idiot!” Sheyan’s voice was stern, angry even. “I risked my damn life to save you. Do you know how much I’ve given up? Do you want me to go back empty handed like a fool?”

Sheyan’s tone was really harsh, like he was ready to carry out some inhumane corporal punishments on Ronnie. If it was any other contestants, they would have felt humiliated and their ego would have been bruised, but strangely, this method was very effective on Ronnie, and he seemed to take it very well. Of course, the premise was that it must be done by someone that had his full respect.

“You’re right, Boss. I was wrong,” Ronnie quickly apologised, “I’ll do as you say.”

Sheyan turned to Aldaris. “It’s time to put more pressure on them. This time, you’re going to draw the enemy’s attention with a Psionic Storm, and I’ll charge in and release my disease. Ronnie, who do you think is the biggest threat to us among them?”

Ronnie contemplated for a moment before he suggested, “Pacino and Old A are both very powerful.”

But Sheyan snorted in contempt. “They’re good, but merely passable. If that guy is here, those two are nothing to worry about at all!”

When Sheyan said this, he was thinking of Brother Black, then of Aziz, that son of a bitch.

He then announced the main target. “There’s a guy with an unusually powerful sense of smell among them. If possible, kill him first!”
